Although I have the help of a small staff at Max V Bauer, CPA PC, I am the principle service provider for clients. As a CPA working in public accounting for over twenty years, in conjunction with my Masters of Science in Taxation, I have developed a wealth of knowledge and experience regarding the accounting, federal and state tax issues commonly faced by today’s individual taxpayers and small business owners. I have a particular niche with local medical practice clients due, in part, to a few years where I worked as a CFO for a regional orthopedic group. I have a proven track record of providing superior service to meet the needs of this unique sector. This service niche goes beyond traditional tax planning and compliance and extends to consulting on CPT codes, billing analysis, provider performance review, staffing metrics, and much more.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Boston College and my Masters of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University. I am a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants. I also work hard to stay current with certifications and seminars to ensure I am up-to-date on all of the newest information, laws, regulations, technology, and techniques in our field.
Outside of work, I was formerly an adjunct professor at Fisher College. I also serve or served on the boards of several small local non-profit organizations. In addition to spending time with my wife, children, and our dog Luna, I also enjoy coaching my son’s soccer team and occasionally kicking the ball around myself.
